I also received word that I was not selected for the DAAD. Luckily, I was granted a Fulbright. To all of those who were granted the DAAD, congratulations! And to those who were not, have no doubt that you will become super successful. As the great Max Planck once said, "Auch eine Entäuschung, wenn sie nur gründlich und endgültig ist, bedeutet einen Schritt vorwärts."
I turned in my senior thesis and got the good Fulbright news all in one day. A 100 pound weight is lifted off my shoulders. Now it's time to eat my feelings. Wishing all the best to those still waiting for decisions. Hopefully it shan't be too much longer. =)
That's cool. What are you planning on doing research on? I applied to DAAD and Fulbright to do biochemistry research at the Freie Universität in Berlin.
Hey all. I also applied for both a Fulbright Full Grant and DAAD scholarship this year. Seems as though if we don't hear back from either by Friday, I am going to have to pour myself a stiff drink to deal with my anxiety over the weekend.
Best of luck to all of you!
Lolz. Seeing as I currently am doing physical chemistry research, I thoroughly enjoyed that analogy. It seems as though we will have to wait at least until tomorrow to find out if our metaphorical cat is dead or alive. But given my anxiety level, I'm not thoroughly unconvinced that it got out and gave me rabies...
... That moment when discover that Germany Full Grant applicants have been notified on the Tuesday of this week in March for the past 3 years.
... then that moment when you realize that today is Tuesday and 5PM EST is in one hour.....
