I applied this year, got an acceptance, but declined the offer. The big reason was that they told me explicitly that there'd be no funding for MSEM students (even though they indicated otherwise on their website), and it's quite expensive. The acceptance rate was quite low, around 7%.

Hi all, I have offers to UMich's MA Stats program, and Duke's Master's in Statistical and Economic Modeling program. None of them are funded at the moment, and they cost roughly the same in tuition. It's apparently easy to get a TA/RA job at Duke, but they don't really pay enough to offset the tuition. My question is, are there many TA or RA positions available at Michigan for Applied Stats students? Being able to get one of those would definitely make the decision easier, since they come with a stipend and tuition waiver. Thanks!
