  1. I just received my email: Not Selected for Jamaica. I'm still shaking. I wish all Caribbean applicants the best, and to those that got their grants: have the best time!
  2. My Caribbean folks, will this be our week? I wish everyone the best and hope that those finals aren't being too hard on you
  3. Oh my God, I'm so excited for the Morocco people! I really hope you all find out today. Best wishes!
  4. To Crystaldee: hang in there, sweetheart! If it really is meant for you, I'm sure you'll get an email pretty soon saying how much they'd love to have you To everyone still waiting: We're almost there! I can feel it!
  5. Good morning, people! This is Monday and we have another week ahead of us. Good luck to everyone! Also, thank God May's here: I used to think it was so far away
  6. Yeah, I'm a graduating senior (my last final is on May 7th, yay!) and it's crazy not to know where I'll be come September. I've been accepted at a few universities in the UK (Goldsmiths is my backup plan) and I just want to know already on what side of the world I'll be spending the year!
  7. I really have no idea... But it definitely helps to know that there's other people waiting with me Go us!
  8. I hear you! I've already done studies abroad and I had the greatest experience, but it was still really difficult for me to be away from my loved ones. As the months passed, I realized it was easier if I just kept things to 2 or 3 emails a week, but by the end of the year I was a mess It also makes me a little nervous to actually live there (Jamaica) on my own. I know absolutely no one and, from what I've heard, life in Kingston can be a bit challenging for people who don't know their way around... Being a young, foreign woman is just the icing on the cake So, yeah, I'm definitely 100% excited about going, but also a tiny little bit anxious.
  9. Oh my God, I'm afraid of that too! It's silly, but by this point, I'm thinking the silliest things
  10. Please, Caribbean, pleeeease! Just answer already...
  11. You just broke my heart... I just... can't wait anymore. I'm really, really frustrated. But thanks for the news
  12. Yeah, it's pretty much safety issues: they think everyone's crazy because marihuana is legal Also, it's the fact they know very little about Kingston or London, so they just think London's automatically better because it's in a "first world" country.
  13. Anyone else's family wants them not to go to their country of choice? I applied to Jamaica (still waiting!!!!) and my family is COMPLETELY against it. They'd much prefer it if I went to London, where I've already been accepted.
  14. Hi! This is my first time posting! I applied for a full grant to Jamaica, and I am going crazy waiting for that email. It's great to hear from other Caribbean applicants. Best of luck!
