  1. Oh I definitely know what you mean about the website! I was just finally able to register for classes, and am waiting to hear back about financial aid. It is so weird that they disburse checks after the bill is due. Do you know if they will drop you from your classes when the bill is not paid on time because I'm waiting to be paid by my loans? And yes, I'd love to keep in touch- I don't know anyone at hunter, let alone the school of social work ha. My email is laurendijo@gmail if you want to meet up at orientation or something!
  2. Thanks- that was really helpful. I always feel better knowing a little bit about whats coming. I wish I could've gone to an earlier orientation, but hopefully a few classes will still be open for the last group!
  3. good luck! if you dont mind posting sometime after you go, i'm really curious what will be going during the orientation- especially in regards to registration, hunter email accounts, and loans/payment congrats!!
  4. My online application never went past saying Submitted, but I found out about my admissions decision through the mail. I would contact the admissions office maybe if you haven't heard back after a while? I'm pretty sure they gave us a maximum of 10 days before receiving a decision after the interview. congrats! did you pick an orientation to attend yet? I have to wait till July since I just finished undergrad and had to wait on final transcripts.
  5. hey there- I was really nervous for mine too, but it really wasn't bad at all. I was expecting a 2-hour toture sessions, but it was about 45 minutes of applicants discussing ideas around a table with the admissions officer. She asked us some basic things about ourselves, our undergraduate careers, experiences in the field, and some 'what would you do if...' type questions. It was honestly very laid back, and everyone was very nice. Good Luck!
  6. Anyone else out there starting their MSW at Hunter this fall?
  7. I went to Rutgers for 4 years without an car and found it very easy to get around, especially if you live on the college ave campus where most things seem to be going on. Grad student housing isnt paticularly great from what I have heard, but I lived off campus the majority of the time and enjoyed it. Feel free to ask any other questions- I had a very positive experience at Rutgers.
  8. Just finished undergrad at Rutgers University and will soon be moving to nyc to start my msw at Hunter. Anyone else newly admitted and waiting to attend pre-orientation this summer? I'm a bit confused about all of the online ids/portals, and registering for classes, but assume this will all be covered at orientation. I'd love to talk with any other new students out there!
