  1. Hi all !

    I just found this thread, I just received my acceptance to Radford this week (March 5th to be exact) !

    I was wondering about the open house as well, I'm sure its more than 12-1? I hope so. I live in Toronto and would really like to see the campus/program before I make any decision, but a 10/11 hour drive is a trek for an hour tour.

    Radford is also the first response I have gotten from ANY school (rejection/acceptance/waitlist) which makes me nervous that their deadline to respond is April 15th :S it seems early while all the other schools seem to be taking their time !

    In Canada a lot of the speech programs share an application database, so if you accept an offer of acceptance to one program, it automatically removes your application to the other programs. Does any one know if this is true for programs in the states?

    Good luck to everyone and congrats to all who have gotten a response !!!!

  2. I had to set up an account with Western (get a Western email etc) so my assumption is that our admission decision emails with go there??? and not to the emails we provided to ORPAS???? I really don't want to be jumping between emails at midnight tomorrow hahaha

    good luck everyone !

  3.

    It doesn't say last two years on their website.  Are you talking about the SLP or  another program? See below.  To me this sounds like your entire undergrad.

    M.Sc.A. Entry Requirements:
    • an undergraduate degree with a minimum of a B average (3.0 on a 4.0 scale);
    • a set of course prerequisites (24 credits total) completed in excellent standing;
    • your CV;
    • a letter of intent (this requirement has been modified please see specific instructions);
    • proof of English competency, if required.

    From my understanding (and I may be wronggg!!!!), in order to apply you MUST have a minimum of a B average over your entire undergraduate degree, however, when considering your application they review your subGPA from the last 2 years, as well as your prereq average. At least that was my understanding !

  4. Another McGill Applicant! They'll be done with notifications early next week...hopefully you won't have to wait that long!

    Also, once an hour is not enough...once every 5 minutes is a MUST when a decision is imminent  :)

    I may have under-reported my activity on here...haha....I keep it open on my laptop and simply hit refresh every 60 seconds  :wacko:  :P

  5. I got that Western Email as well! Gave me some false hope for sure !!!

    The McGill wait is just killing me, they seem to be sending out decisions sporadically.....I wish they had a specific notification date like ORPAS does.

    I check this forum and my email at least once an hour...!

  6. Hi all,

    I'm applying to SLP for the first time this year. I've submitted all my forms to ORPAS and have almost completed my other applications. In all I'm applying to UofT, UWO, McGill, and Dal! My sGPA is 3.7, and my cGPA is about the same (hard for me to calculate as I transferred schools half way through my undergrad), I'm completing a BSc in psych and will have my honours thesis complete by April. I have over 100 hours working with an SLP, where I ran communication and social skills groups with ASD children. My GRE scores are not fabulous, I found the test exhausting haha

    Does anyone know how exactly each school reviews /ranks their applicants? ie. any inside scoop? haha

    Good luck!!!

  7. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted!!!

    I won't be applying until Fall 2013, but I'm interested in seeing how everyone has handled the process!!!!

    To the people who were accepted to Dal, would you mind sharing your stats? I'm thinking its going to be my first choice and I'd love to know what they are looking for!

    My current cGPA is 3.7 (on a 4.0 scale) and I'm hoping my subGPA will be a little higher after I complete my final semester. As of right now, I have 40 hours of clinical experience with an SLP, running social learning groups with ASD children. Hopefully by the time of application I'll have about 100 hours logged. No research experience though :S

    Good luck to everyone and thanks for any information in advance !!!! :)
