Is it acceptable to be involved in research which is tangentially related to your intended field? I might be able to participate in a lab which conducts research in the biomedical sciences but I'm interested in medicinal chemistry. In addition, the lab where I might work is somewhat involved in drug development (latter stages). Thanks!
