  1. I know this is a common dilemma, but I thought I would post mine on here because I am currently feeling paralyzed in making a decision and would like to hear from people who have been through this experience already. My current choice is between a funded MS Economics at Portland State University versus MS Agricultural/Resource Economics at UC Davis. Although there are many qualitative differences unique to my preferences, I am having a very hard time comprehending the career value of spending more money for a more prestigious school. I do not intend to pursue a PhD and work in academia, but I was wondering if anybody could provide any insight as to the real difference in opportunities each program will provide for employment outside of the region such as the EPA, Resources for the Future, NOAA, Nature Conservancy, etc. type careers. Does it really make that much difference? Thanks so much!
