  1. Hi there everyone, Can someone who has received the written confirmation of CGS SSHRC let me know the timeline for responding. I received notification from my graduate unit that I got it, but my mail is most certainly lost in transit. Thanks kindly!
  2. I had a similar experience last year, I was totally confounded because I basically submitted the same proposal again this year and got it. When I asked the Grad director, she told me that sometimes they will hold back on a Master's student just to see the full Master's transcript. Do not despair...and don't necessarily change anything, especially if the feedback was all strong - just submit again with the complete Master's transcript and cross your fingers.
  3. I just want to put out there that I'm not a big fan of this year's dissemination method for results. Everyone, whether they win or not, wants the cozy comfort of an official letter to snuggle up to or curse at.
  4. Yes, it's at U of T. Congratulations on your position, York is amazing (my partner goes there) and their benefit...om.g. they are so good...$3000 for "paramedical" expenses which translates to massages every month!
  5. Just as a heads up, when I found out last year that I was waitlisted, I asked a professor in the department to write a recommendation for an award to cover tuition out of SGS - so that I could eliminate the $8400. It worked...
  6. I was waitlisted last year, it came to nothing. It requires someone in your specific division (the number group you applied through) to reject SSHRC. It's not a hopeless situation, but it is certainly aggravating, as you can be notified as late as October in the school year.
  7. SGS has the results at U of T. I heard from my own department (English) on Friday. (The results were released from SGS to departments late last week!) As a note: I heard by phone call.
  8. I was notified tonight that I was awarded CGS! PhD1 - applied in Fine Arts/Literature GPA: 3.9 no conferences no publications 12 awards (university and external incl. Masters SSHRC) Congratulations to everyone hearing, good luck to those waiting!
