  1. I am thinking about it, but I also realize - I will have to ask for recommendations again, ask my university to send envelopes again, etc. etc. etc. It's just too much =) Are you going to ask the same people to provide recommendations?
  2. I thought about reapplying. What do you mean by "defer my acceptance"? I will have to submit all the documents, transcripts, recommendations again, right? Or did i miss something?
  3. Yes, you were right. I got the response - it means you have to pay for everything but can get a TA and blah-blah-blah.
  4. Hi guys! I was on the wait list. Today I received a letter that my application was rejected. They also asked whether I would consider to study without funding. Here is the text: "Thank you for your interest in the Economics Department at the University of California Riverside. The Graduate Admissions Committee is arriving to its final decisions. We reviewed your application and unfortunately we could not admit you with fellowship to our PhD program in Economics. The applicant pool was large and extremely strong this year, and many applicants have excellent credentials. When you applied, you indicated that you did not want to be considered without financial aid. We might have one or two more openings for unfunded graduate students. If you would like to be considered in the pool of applicants to these possible positions, please let us know by replying to this email and we will follow up with more details." Does anyone know that this mean? Does it mean that they provide no funding at all so i would have to pay tuition + cost of living. Or does it mean that they don't provide any fellowships but I wouldn't have to pay tuition. P.S. Of course I asked them, but i will get a response in like 10 hours, and i can't wait that long =))))
