I have faith in MissingVandyCandy's propaganda, being a supergenius/supermodel myself and having just been accepted to that wonderful Southern institution and having lived in New York for the past 4 years. I'm in for English. Pretty sure I'm the only one on this board in for that, but that's alright, because I love me some interdisciplinary contacts. I don't suppose that anyone has any tips on where to buy/rent a place? I know there's apartments nearby, but I kind of want a quaint little house with a picket fence. Guess I'll start on craigslist and see what I find.

I am contact with the director of graduate studies there, and she said she'd let me know as soon as she heard about acceptances. But I haven't heard one way or the other yet.

I'm not an MA applicant, but everyone at Columbia this year who was admitted in the Renaissance Concentration had an MA. So it looks good for them at least.

Just wondering if anyone has been admitted and is considering enrolling this year. Also wondering where else you've been admitted if you got in.

Actually, I called Yale two mornings ago (Tuesday, 26th) and the receptionist said they were still working on them and we should hear soon. According to this website, some acceptances have been sent out, so she could have been lying, I suppose. But I also think it's possible that certain concentrations sent out their acceptances before others. Columbia's notifications go through the GSAS front office, not through the department, according to one of my professors who was on the admissions committee in years past. As of last night, he had not heard any decisions had been finalized, but he's not on the committee any longer, so you can take that as you will. The GSAS office, and Columbia in general, are notoriously unorganized though. So even if decisions have been made, I would be surprised if we heard anything this week. Good luck to everyone.
