  1. Woot woot!!! Congrats! Here's to the next great 4 yrs of your life!
  2. Yes, yes, yes! Rita Dhamoon is a huge consideration for a second supervision. I didn't know about her until I submitted my app, or I would have included her in my SOP as a potential supervisor as well. Hopefully, I get both her and Eisenberg. That'd be great. Oh, also, Prof. MacDonald told me she's taking about 2 students this year. You + Me = 2, right? Ps. I could tell prof. MacDonald is amazing. Whoever gets her hits the jackpot. All the best to you, marlise! Plz keep me updated!
  3. Oh wow. My focus is also Gender & Politics (Identity politics/ the politics of difference), second stream political theory as well -- i imagine we're competitors for the same spot (assuming there is just one, given our shared interests)-- it's either you or me---or maybe BOTH? . I suspect you may have the advantage having worked with these profs before. I did contact Prof. MacDonald too. (As well as Moore & Lister). But, Dr. MacDonald responded (she was so very nice and was amendable to taking on my research proposal - keeping my fingers crossed). And for UVic, I contacted Dr. Eisenberg, whose interest is also on identity politics, but with particular reference to minority rights. Eisenberg is pretty awesome too and she was very accommodating. Both are incredible profs, I'd be honored to work with either. So, praying for good outcomes across the board.
  4. PhD applicant here to Queens, UWO and UVic. ....The waiting is killing me. Compounded by the fact I have no idea what my odds are. What's your focus? And which prof did you contact at Queens. I contacted 3, only one prof replied. So grateful for that one reply, but did I do enough. No clue.
  5. Hi all, International PhD applicant here. Applied: UWO, Queens & UVic. I have the feeling that I didn't apply to enough Canadian schools. I suspect though, if I should get in anywhere, I'd know within 4 weeks. I've never been good at waiting. Oh Lord.
