How cohesive / how strong is the sense of community among your cohort? Do you interact a lot with the people in your cohort? Did you attend an orientation before you enrolled to get acquintated with the other members of your cohort? Any pesonal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know if any Liberal Arts Colleges offer a Masters program in either History, American Studies, or Humanities?

Hi all, I took the GRE today and did not do very well. Verbal: 670 Math: 490 Obviously the math is the section I'm very concerned about. I realize that the GRE is not a major, decision-deciding factor of the application, but that math score can only hurt me. I'm wondering just how much it could hurt me. I'm thankful that my low score is in math and not verbal, because I know that most history departments consider the verbal part more heavily than they do the math. If it helps, I'm particularly interested in attending NYU. Any insight into just how much that math score will hurt my application? Much thanks.

Is it true that you MUST answer the question in order to move onto the next question on the computer-based GRE? I was trying to figure out whether it would be advantageous or not to guess, but I suppose it doesn't matter if you are obligated to answer the question.

Hello all, I am very interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in History. I am particularly interested in the history of homosexuality. Does anyone know of graduate programs that have faculty that specialize in gay history or that have notable gay history programs? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
