glad to hear that your interviews went well. I also just finished my UPenn interviews today. It was almost 40 minutes. They told me that I'll hear something around 25th-26th February. Fingers crossed!

Questions always started with tell me about your research, how did you do this particular experiment and why did you do it, where do you see yourself in 20 years and why did you choose this particular school, and finally the dreaded:do you have any questions for me?

I had one skype interview for Penn yesterday, I have one today and one tomorrow..UPenn requires 4 skype interviews. For BU the dates have not yet been confirmed, they said they would contact me next week.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Actually they have offered lodging and a travel fund of 500$. Apart from the fact that 500$ is not enough, it is not possible to get a US visa within a month from where I live. I have sent an email asking for a Skype interview, fingers crossed!

I just received a personalized email for an interview at Johns Hopkins BCMB. They offered an on campus in person interview. Since I am an international student living outside the USA it is difficult to make all arrangements including Visa within February. Does anyone know if they can arrange Skype interview? Do you guys think it would be rude of me to email and ask the coordinator who sent me the invite? Thanks

I am also an international student. Among the schools I have applied to, I have received an interview invite from Boston university PiBS PhD program. The deadline was 2nd December and I got the invite on 4th. So I guess international invites are sent out around the same time as the domestic ones.

I was planning to apply to University of Washington, Seattle's Molecular Cellular Biology department. But they said international candidates had to do On campus in person interviews and they wouldn't reimburse the cost. So I didn't apply there. So yeah, as far as I know I was Seattle has there international applicants fly to the US for interviews

Thanks! I am only applying to MCDB as I contacted a professor there and she encouraged me to apply. Honestly I'm not optimistic at all about my application, and if you have noticed everyone in this forum has godlike stats; and as an international student, If I can get into one of the programs i applied to, I'll be more than elated. Hey, yes I have applied to umich MCDB.In fact I sent my official transcripts there. As far as I know they do require you to send your hard copy transcript as they consider it as part of your application package. But obviously, you can ask the admission coordinator to be sure.
