  1. The Bush School has a very good reputation in certain circles outside of Texas. Therefore, it really depends on what it is you want to do. Georgia82 certainly has a point in regard to College Station vs. Austin, but LBJ is nowhere near as reputable in the field of International Affairs. That's really where the Bush School stands out. If you want to study domestic policy, LBJ blows Bush out of the water, but if you are looking to study IA, Bush is definitely far more superior (this from LBJ faculty, too!). Like Georgia82, I too am interested in your other options...Cheers!
  2. Thanks...I did not have the opportunity to get online for that chat. Was it pretty informative?
  3. Not sure how many of you are waiting to hear back from Georgetown SFS programs. Nevertheless, I received an email from them stating that funding decisions were being made this week. Hopefully this helps someone out there out...sure helped me feel slightly more confident about my funding future in the SSP there.
  4. Hey guys, My status changed almost immediately but I had heard about slightly delayed changes. If you already heard about admissions, I'm sure it's nothing. As far as funding is concerned, I received the fellowship letter about a week and a half after my admissions decision letter. I'm already hearing about people being waitlisted so if you're in, that's definitely something. Hopefully they'll get back to you regarding funding. I was at the school a few days ago and they were still working hard on everything and were still getting new info about funding. Good luck to you all! Jay
  5. Sosh, First of all, thanks! I "unofficially" found out at the open house but the letter from the University came in last week. Additionally, the LBJ folks sent me a PDF copy via email the day they received the decision from the University. I have not heard anything else regarding the funding from any of the others I met at the first open house. Good luck to you, though. They've been doing everything in waves over there so there's really no telling. Jay
  6. Hey, So you know, Elliott School posted their decisions online. You need to go to the "Application Inquiry" page (the applynow site where you input your username and password) and at the very bottom, there will be a link to the decision. I just checked mine on Friday...they had sent out an email last Wednesday. Good Luck!! Jay
  7. I completely feel your pain...while I applied to a different program, they truly have been taking their time. I know of nobody receiving any response from them in the SFS...via post or email.
  8. So has anyone heard from Georgetown SFS? This is the last school I'm holding out for...
  9. Hi Sosh: I went to the LBJ visit and I must say that they were most welcoming and the sessions were very comprehensive and helpful. They took the liberty of scheduling appointments for us with whomever they felt we would benefit the most from...while this may seem a bit troubling, they actually did a great job of putting us in the right place and with the right people. Now, if there is any specific faculty member you really wish to meet with, let the Grad Program Coordinator know. Otherwise, not really sure what other info you're looking for. I really enjoyed it and I have a difficult decision ahead of me. Hope this helps.
  10. Hey Ideomotor, I just went to the open house today and I was told, just as you said, that the second rollout has not happened yet. Just thought I'd let you know that there is still definitely hope. Not sure if you've been over there but it's a pretty decent set-up. Best of luck to you.
  11. So, like everyone on this thread made it in. I guess that makes sense...it seems only truly serious students are stressing out over getting into grad school...Congratulations to all of you guys.
  12. Dave, Congratulations! So everyone's in? I'm going next week...maybe I'll see someone there?
