  1. I'm in the same boat, waiting to hear back from GW. When I emailed them on March 12 they said they were still working on it (making offers, reallocating money when offers are turned down, etc.). It's sort of amusing because I don't even think I'm eligible for funding, since I applied with the intent to study part-time. So I don't know what their deal is.
  2. I am planning to pursue my MPA part time while working full time. It comes down to a few different factors for me. One is that yes, I am hesitant to take on debt to pursue a career in a sector that is not known for its high pay. Another is that I'm slightly on the older end of the spectrum (29) and already working in a position directly related to my professional interests, one that I (mostly) enjoy, so I'm hesitant to drop out of the full-time workforce for 2 years. It helps that my employer is very supportive of my decision and has promised some flexibility, although I know that the program I will attend offers most of their courses at night.
  3. I'm not sure what to make of it. The email I got said I was "in the pool being considered for funding opportunities," even though since I applied as a part-time student my understanding is that I'm ineligible for any aid anyway.
  4. The commonly-espoused difference between the MPA and the MPP, which I think holds true, is that the MPA is a degree for people who are primarily seeking to become managers. It is geared toward helping you become the administrator/director of a government organization or nonprofit. An MPP is designed to helped you become a policy analyst. There is some blurring between the two, and some institutions use slightly different terms for the degrees. I am less familiar with MBAs with nonprofit concentrations, but as a "business degree for nonprofits," they are closer in spirit, at least, to the MPA.
  5. I'm de-lurking to wholeheartedly endorse this comment!
