By the way, I hear the Seattle School just received its accreditation. I think it sounds like a really interesting program for counseling/ministry prep, but I don't know if it'd be very helpful if you're pursuing academia. But I thought I'd leave the comment here in case anyone is interested.

I'm looking into applying to the AMRS program at Chicago, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with it? I'm interested in getting a masters for my career, so the fact that this one will take less time away from work is appealing, and I really like how interdisciplinary and open-ended the program is. I'm just wondering if it's as good an option as it sounds (is it less respected because it's briefer?), how competitive it is to get in, or if there are other programs that might be better options (I know Duke also has a one-year degree).
