Yeah I was thinking that too: No wonder you chose psychology. I'd like to say that people in my lab have facial piercings and questionable facial hair for academia, and no one really cares, so I doubt that it would really be a huge deal.

Hello! I'm new! I am a junior in bioe, and I'm thinking of pursuing a graduate degree in Bioengeering (hence registering/posting here). I'm wondering what you guys are applying/have applied to (in terms of MS/Ph.D) and why. I have a serious interest and commitment to research, and I would like to work in industry (currently, though this may be subject to change). However, my interest are in tissues culturing, and I'm not sure how many opportunities there are in industry right now for such a career. So if you guys know anything about the job market (gasp! Jobssss?), please enlighten me as well. Thanks for any and all help!
