  1. Thought I'd join in on this too . I applied to primarily developmental programs, but I often complemented my application with the cognitive programs. So far, I've heard back from Brown (Feb. 7) and Berkeley (Feb. 10 and 11), though I had an informal phone interview at Northwestern. Has anyone heard anything from UT Austin or Michigan-Ann Arbor?
  2. Hey CAda. I'm also waiting on UT Austin, though I applied to both the Developmental and Cognitive Science programs. I recently emailed the graduate coordinator but am still waiting to hear back. Not sure if that means anything. I didn't apply to the cog. but rather the developmental track, and I haven't heard anything either. From the looks of it, I can't tell if interviews have already been extended and offers made. This silence is rather lonely...
  3. I was contacted by one of my POIs, who first called and then sent an informal email. I'm still waiting for more information from the graduate coordinator, which may indicate that they too are waiting for the professors to finish contacting those invited for interviews. So, if you haven't heard anything there may be hope!
  4. Your sentence is quite wordy. If I were you, I'd try shortening it (it'll help with the word count) and writing it in active voice. For example: "I scored in the 98th percentile in the Nationwide Selection Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies, a test which is similar to the GRE, and, as a result, was awarded a full scholarship." Just some food for thought.
  5. This might have been asked before--and I apologize if it already has--but how does it look to have 4 letters of recommendation when only 3 are required? Does it strengthen your application (assuming that all four letters are strong with two being stronger than the rest)? Or, does it actually weaken your application because you didn't follow implicit directions (though the schools never specified that you could only have at most 3 letters)? If I submit all 4 to the same school, will the admissions committee randomly select the first three and disregard the last one? Sorry if this seems trivial. These applications stress me out and make me over-analyze the smallest thing.
  6. Is anyone else having difficulty creating an account with Letterbanc? I'm applying to the Psychology Department, and they require that LORs be submitted via Letterbanc rather than simply submitting them on their online application. I can't seem to create an account and it's so frustrating!
