  1. @Katrun Congrats to you! Did SAIS offer you any scholarships? I believe SAIS is everyone's dream school. However, I was rejected by SAIS's DC campus (to be honest, I was not attracted by SAIS Bologna). Actually I can not afford SAIS's tuition if they really admit me. It is so expensive. I have good vibes on Heller. Heller is more generous on scholarship and more friendly to international students. As we discussed above , the second year's option is also a attractive factor. I want to pursue my career in international development. Heller's reputation and its curriculum is very fit for me. As for SAIS, I think most of their graduates will go to private sectors. But DC's location is really really an advantage!
  2. @lala1640 I wish I could attend, but I am an international student and it is not convenient for me to join the admitted student day. Looking forward to your feedback. I am not sure about the page for admitted student to connect. I researched at the LinkedIn, there is a Heller School group there, and a SID subgroup, but I did not join them at the moment. I think there has no facebook group yet. Maybe you could ask AO regarding this.
  3. Hi Katrun, I did not apply SIS, but I researched it and found its new established social enterprise program is a really interesting program. Have you heard back from Heller? Which school will you prefer to go at the moment?
  4. lala1640: congratulations! I will attending SID this fall and looking forward to seeing you at Heller. Rearding the TA or RA, here are what I heard from Heller's admission office: "Some students are able to secure on-campus employment once they arrive for their program, however we do not provide work-study or campus employment as part of the admissions/financial aid package. Only admitted students who choose to enroll at the Heller School are eligible to apply for campus job opportunities. Any employment would be an hourly wage and would not defray tuition costs. Enrolled students must apply for available positions through the Office of Student Financial Services. Please visit theOffice of Student Financial Services website for additional information. It is also possible to secure a research or teaching assistantship under the direction/request of a Heller faculty member. We have limited needs and availability for assistantships, however interested students can discuss opportunities with their academic adviser once they have arrived on campus. " Btw, anyone attended or will attend the SID's Admitted Student Days? (I noticed there are two sessions: one is on March 26, the other is on April 4) Looking forward to hearing from your thoughts about this program.
  5. Hey guys, I am very glad to see the discussion in this thread. I was accepted by the Heller's SID program earlier today. I submitted my application on Jan 13 and my application was completed on Jan 17. If you plan to visit Brandeis in the coming months, I really looking forward to hearing from your comments regarding this program. Just the same reason with you, I was drawn to the SID program at Heller because its option on second year (advanced study or internship). I really like SID's practitioner-oriented curriculum. Moreover, the second year's option makes the program affordable to me. My little concern regarding SID is its job placement. As far as I know, the SID admits many applicants from developing countries and the students usually go back to their countries for developing work. (I am from a developing country as well). However, I plan to work for a few years in the NGO sectors in US. I am worried that Heller's name is not big as some DC schools. Location is another concern. I think there are not many international NGOs based in Boston. (correct me if what I said was wrong.) Btw, I got the rejection from Georgetown's Global Human Development Program which has only a 20 people cohort. I also applied SAIS's MA, UCSD'S IRPS and Emory's Master in Development Practice program. I believe I will get the results next week. I understand waiting is really painful. Good luck to Katrun and lala1640. Hope to hear the good news from all of you in the coming days.
  6. I just got the rejection from GHD on March 5. My overall application package is not so strong. (several years WE in non-profit sector in a developing country but with a low GMAT/TOEFL score). To SoutheastSeas: would you like to share your background? I really like this program. But I know it is very competitive. Good luck to others who have applied this program.
