  4. Hey all, well... Im a grad student and.I've been feeling lonely for a while but a week ago I met this girl who was great... She's really fun to talk to but we only talked for 15 minutes and then she had to get on the metro. I didn't take her phone number or any information. It was kinda fun never knowing if I'm gonna meet her again and I didn't meet her at the metro again. But last night I met her by chance and we started talking for 40 minutes and she told me she had to.go to the library but she will walk with me half way, but we passed the library then we kept walking and talking and eventually we sat near a park in the university for 20 minutes before she walked me near the metro when I had to leave. During our talk she said something's that she told me that she never tells people about even her friends also she told me about her best friend who now they don't talk because he wanted more than just being friends with her.. Will this be a problem for me? I mean what if she doesn't want to be in a relationship or what if she just needs someone to talk to?? and again I did not take her phone number but she told me that she works at a cafe nearby so i told her I'll pass by to buy you a cup of coffee someday and thats it.... Was that a good thing to do? And I'm thinking of seeing her tonight at the cafe and maybe ask her out... I'm not sure though!? BTW. I don't have strong experience in these things. I'm more of an introvert do I haven't really had a girlfriend except once a few Yeats ago.
  5. Thanks guys. Ill contact the international office today

  7. Hey guys, I decided to study in order to prepare for my masters degree. I got accepted into a field that I like but haven't studied anything about it for a couple of years. I graduated from a normal university and got accepted into a strong one and I believe that I should study, revise and prepare for my degree. Also getting an RA probably means that I should focus more now on studying. ... anyone else having such thoughts? ?
  8. Guys on friday the university informed me that the decision was sent be mail. However, I just discovered that the mailing address that I wrote in the application is my home address and the post office doesn't deliver mail here and if the mail is not registered there is a high chance that it will be lost. What can I do? Anyone knows if university decision mails are registered or not? Also i will send the university my email and give them my pobox maybe they can send me the letter again.

  13. Thank you guys for your help, so here's the statement with the actual numbers shown ( guess it wont harm hehe ) "You will receive for the calendar year referenced above (Fall and spring = 18,000+ summer=11,000),totalling 29,000. This support will include remission of tuition for up to 10 credits for each semester and up to 4 credits during summer as well as subsidized health insurance." So if i am supposed to pay for the tuiition then im not getting a good deal at all ... Perhaps its better to check with the office
  14. Hey all, so a few days after accepting the offer I noticed a somewhat vague statement in the offer letter, here it is: "You will receive for the calendar year referenced above (Fall and spring = xxxxx+ summer=xxxxx),totalling xxxx. This support will include remission of tuition for up to 10 credits for each semester and up to 4 credits during summer as well as subsidized health insurance." My question is: the bolded sentence, does this mean that I will not pay the tuition for up to 10 credit hours and 4 , or will they deduct their cost from my support?!?! this question might sound stupid but I just want to make sure . Oh and another question, will I receive my support based on the yearly total i.e: total/ 12 months, or my salary will be different depending on the semester ? another stupid question hehe
  15. Hey. I believe it depends on your "studying and research" interest. .. I mean that if you like the science behind dynamics and control then focus on this field, believe me it would be much more fun and tolerable to study an enjoyable class. And as for a research in renewable and sustainable energy you have to know exactly what you are interested in. For example if you like to do rresearch in the field of usable radiation energy in a solar collector or how to transfer heat energy efficiently then you'll probably not need to know much in the field of dynamics and control. However, if you love dynamics and control but you want your research to be related to sustainable and renewable energy then you can focus on the control behind the collectors from a thermal perspective and Dynamic one if its moving or rotating. Or maybe you can focus on vibrations energy harvesting I mean that you should follow your interest and apply your knowledge to your fiepd of interest. As for a career I do not have any idea as I'm still a student.... Good luck
