  1. Got my expected rejection from Wisconsin today. Now Im waiting on rejections from Ohio State and UCLA. Really hoping Maryland or Georgia State pulls me through,
  2. I see an acceptance to Maryland on the results page by email. I thought they were only mailing out decisions?
  3. UCLA, Wisconsin, and Ohio State all sent their acceptances out first last years before their rejections. So since I have not heard from these schools yet, I think I can assume that I will not receive admission. I guess I gotta hope on Maryland, Minnesota, Kentucky, and Georgia State.
  4. So Ohio State and Wisconsin are staying quiet today?
  5. Rejected by Northwestern. I swear they are taking nobody.
  6. Do fridays mean rejection days? I notice many get rejected on that day.
  7. The results page for political science shows some.
  8. Im losing patience. I notice Ohio State, UCLA, Wisconsin, and now Northwestern are starting to give decisions. I still have yet to hear from these schools and have already been turned down by Michigan. Sick of checking my email and mailbox to see nothing. Basically like many I am sick of waiting. If they want to reject me they should just tell me now. Im a little crabby today. Always waking up tired and have school work due.
  9. I think that not hearing after there had been decisions made means you have not been rejected. Thats the positive of it. It may mean that the committee is still looking over your application or that they have not gotten to it yet. Wisconsin sent out acceptances and rejections for my program. I have not heard from them yet. This may mean that they have gone through their first round of students. That though Im probably not the perfect candidate, I have probably made it further than those who have been rejected already.
  10. My professor told me that no news is good news. I have only heard back from Michigan and got rejected. I see three other schools I applied to who have already sent some decisions out and I have not heard from them yet.
  11. I got rejected from Michigan today. I was one of the many who were massacred lol. I know Ohio state, Wisconsin, and UCLA have been sending out decisions. Have not heard from any of those schools yet. I take that as a good sign.
  12. Hello, I am a Junior student at Southern Illinois University. I am wanting to go to graduate school and I am simply looking for some advice. I have done great so far in my undergraduate years with an overall G.P.A 3.92. I am a political science major and I wish to continue on in graduate school studying American politics. I have looked at schools in which are rated high for the discipline. Other than my GPA I have been involved on campus in organizations and have volunteered. My pols gpa I believe is 3.7. I am wanting a PhD in political science (American Politics). Schools on my mind are U. of Michigan, Michigan State, U. of Wisconsin, U. of Minnesota, and North carolina. I will be applying for graduate school in fall 2010, so I am wanting to make sure I am in the best position possible to get into the schools I have listed above. I plan on taking the GRE this August, but of course I worry about that cause I hate standardized tests. So basically I am asking for any advice of things I should do to make sure I have the best chance to get into a grad school I want. Thank you for any advice. Also any other schools that I am overlooking would be appreciated (dont mention ivy leagues cause im not into those schools). Again thank you.
  13. Well Im wanting to go into American politics. As far as specific research I am unsure of that. I do not know any famour or popular political science professors especially in american poltics study so any names would help.
  14. Because there are many good schools in the midwest. Political science is strong in the midwest and maybe I prefer to stay in the region for grad school. Geography playing a role in graduate education is not bad. Many students factor that in.
  15. Just to be clear I am looking for schools in the midwest.
  16. Hi, I am entering my junior year in college and I am a political science major. I plan on going to graduate school for political science after I am done with my bachelor's degree. I have been looking at the big ten schools mostly in which Wisconsin and Michigan have appealed to me so far. However, I know that these schools are not easy to get into. So far, my GPA is a 3.9, part of 4-5 student organizations, doing some research with a professor, and had a mentoring job last year. So my question is what schools that are good for political science should I apply to that can be easy or easier to be accepted to in case I get rejected by schools at the top of my list? Thanks.
