  1. Undergrad: Georgia Institute of Technology Major: Biomedical Engineering GPA: 3.65 GRE: 166Q, 157V, AW:4.0 Research Experience: REU at University of South Carolina doing research for Tissue Engineering and Biomaterials 1 Semester in biomaterials and lab at Georgia Tech 1 Summer at South Carolina Medical School as a Lab Tech 3 Semesters at Biomolecular Engineering lab at Georgia Tech REU at Harvard University for Biophysics I'll be able to get 3 recs from the professors that I worked with, so that shouldn't be that much of a worry. The thing is, my GPA is kind of worrysome for some of the top biomed and bioengineering programs, as most of them have an average of about a 3.7. Also, my verbal GRE score is slightly lower than average. Another worry is that although I have done a fair share of research, I still haven't been able to publish anything. Nothing even close to being publishable. So the end question is, how are my chances? Do you think I would be able to get into a good program?
  2. My plan is to go to pursue a PhD in biomedical engineering. I took the GRE a few weeks ago and got a 163Q 159V and 4.0AW. I'm kind of worried about these scores, as I think my quantitative is a bit low for what top universities want. As for other stats, I go to Georgia Tech for biomedical engineering as an undergraduate and have a 3.58 GPA. I've worked in a lab here since August 2012 and have also done an REU at my hometown's school as well as one at Harvard University. Before working in my current lab, I've also worked in a biomaterials lab at Georgia Tech, but for only one semester. I've also worked as a lab tech at my local medical school. Even though I have a lot of research experience, I don't have any publications. I'm planning on retaking the GRE soon so that I can be a little more competitive, but even then, would I be competitive towards top BME programs?
