Personally I thank the people who are calling and asking questions. The delay and lack of info is absurd (not saying the NSF is to blame, but they should expect a some WTF phone calls).
I applied to work with Felicia Pratto (I had also wanted to work with Diane Quinn, but she told me she wasn't accepting students this year). I am going to email them and when I hear back I will let them know as soon as possible.
I think you should make an actual Excel spreadsheet matrix, with all of the variables that you consider important, and the weights you place on each, and the rankings that you assign to each school. (Is it geeky that I would do this?!)

The only school I've heard back from, and have been accepted to, is Yale (Feb 8 ). I will most likely accept, but I still am interested in hearing back from Princeton and Penn State.
