Working during USU post bacc

I think you can only do the 14 week or so sessions for fall, spring and summer sessions. I work 40 hours plus overtime sometimes, and have been taking two a semester the last year. For the first classes three may be manageable but I find two the perfect amount to still be able to enjoy some free time and not be holed up all weekend! -
Congrats!!!!

So crazy, I didn't realize what a process it is! I think the school im looking at is mostly west coasters so it's probably something id be on my own with let me know what they say

Does anyone have any experience with receiving a NY state TSSLD to work with children? All of the masters programs im looking at for the fall are out of state and I'm leaning towards going to a school in California (have to decide this week) but I would like to come back to New York State after grad school. Am I making a huge mistake by going out of state for grad school? I can't imagine going through this application process again and delaying my masters another year but I'm reading about applying for the TSSLD licensure in NY and it sounds like quite the process!!!

Have you tried calling the admissions department? the couple of times I did call months ago they were helpful and alerted me that my application was on hold for a silly reason like my college degree not being verified, which I received years ago.. Maybe that will help thats a long time to be waiting though, they still have yet to contact me about an interview

Same here, since November maybe..and still nada! I was getting calls for a while about Missing transcripts for coursework in progress but those have stopped. Thankful for other options !!

New York/New Jersey Schools Fall 2015

Agreed, I'm more of a city person so Brooklyn or Queens is more appealing than residential long island. Queens, around Forest Hills isn't too far and has a ton to do and is technically off of the island and not too far.. Aw, thanks -it's Chapman, which I've heard mixed reviews about but the change of scenery and warm weather is really appealing! Same to you for NY schools, so competitive! I'm still waiting to hear back from Brooklyn but other than that haven't had luck with NY, so congrats to you too! My friend went to Post and loved it! -

That's awesome, I'm from around there and probably moving to SoCal in the Fall for the program I got into! I think you would find the most reasonable rentals in the town of Glen Cove, about 10 min drive away. Huntington would be 20 min or so (and probably way more expensive) but has more to offer and a cute little town! I would personally prefer Brooklyn or Queens as there's a lot more going on - Eastern Queens wouldn't be terrible since you'll be reverse commuting! But you may be looking at up to a 30-45 minute drive, but post isn't too far from the highway .. Feel free to ask me any questions about the area! -

I feel the same way Dammke1118! I have literally been having mini panic attacks at the thought of being so far from friends and family for 2 years...I'm most likely moving from NY to Cali for grad school. While I studied abroad across the world alone and had the best experience ever and made amazing friends.. it is a scary thought at first! This is reassuring to read, and to know others feel the same

I've had some pretty bad roommates and some awesome ones, it's hard to know until you really know someone! Then again I live in NYC where you have to have roommate through your 20s in most cases! I'm probably moving to California for grad school so with such a drastic change and the scary idea of not knowing anyone I think a roommate may be good ! I'm torn myself..

Hi! I was wondering if any current Chapman students are on here or anyone who knows anything about the program that would be willing to speak about it, hard to find info on the program as it's so new. thanks

I think it may mean they will consider you for the next admission period, One of my schools that I didn't get into for fall 2015 gave me the option to "defer" my app for fall 2016 admission... -

That's great to know! Last time I called they said my app was under review but then I got another call..how long did it take them to contact you about an interview after you straightened things up? Just want to check if I should keep on calling them -

I'm having the same issue! They keep on calling me saying I'm missing documents but it's just the pre-req courses I'm finishing up in the Spring which shouldn't count anyways since I already have a Bachelors..
