  1. Congrats :) I got an email today saying the second tier of wait listed people a Loyola were picked...aka not me. This is crazy guys. I may really not be going to graduate school this fall.

Thank you! I hope you get in somewhere this fall! I know you can get in somewhere, because you GRE scores are a little higher than mine! I know that some school also have Spring admissions as well!

  2. I've had 4 rejections so far and 1 waitlist. Still waiting to hear back from two schools. I've been reading the posts on this thread and feel comforted that others are in the same position as I am and that I'm not alone. Does anyone have backup plans? The thing that bugs me is that I feel that I am a competitive applicant (great GPA, lots of clinical and volunteer experience, average GRE scores); however, I don't know really what more it is that I have to do to make myself "stand out".

For those that are in the same boat as I am, what are your backup plans?

My backup plan if I don't get in this time around is to take next year and take the pre-reqs somewhere (I'm not an SLP undergrad), study and retake the GRE and then re-apply. My undergrad school will be starting a new Grad program in Speech Pathology next year, so I can always re-apply at my alma mater! However, I'm just hoping I can get in somewhere this year so that I can save myself the headache and heartache of this admission process!

  3. Does anyone know if schools send out their letters in waves? I'm am expecting to hear back from Southeastern Louisiana University soon. I checked the results page, and people have already gotten rejection and acception letters 2-3 days ago! Granted, I am in St. Louis so it may take longer for it to arrive, but I am going crazy over here! I need to know!! Is no news good news?

  4. I'm so sorry!!! I don't know you personally but I am praying for an acceptance to come your way! And I really believe that what is meant to be will always happen- even if it's not the way we originally planned. *hugs*

Aww thank you!! That means a lot to me! I was talking to my friends about it and she pointed out that "deferred" does sound like "the third." Which is kind of funny, but not funny at the same time! I'm not sure what deferred even means. Is it like a wait-list?

  5. There is hope!! #3 is super high and most schools go way beyond that!! My fingers crossed for you

Thank you! But I misunderstood, I'm not actually number 3 on the list. I was deferred. My mom get my letter at home and I she called me to tell me what it said and I thought she said I was number 3, so I heard wrong. I am so sad now! :(
