  1. Muzili, persistent_homology, I was told that they are still deciding on the funding opportunities. Didn't mention any date though. If any of you get any more details please post it here. Seems like OSU is my best bet now after all the rejections. Hope to hear good news from NCSU.

  5. Thanks a lot Cyberwulf. I agree with your remark about ISI. I hope having better grades from University of Mumbai can compensate, in some way if not totally, for this. Also, when you say "Reaches", do you mean that i have a fair chance there and departments like Rice and Iowa should be my safe bet. Or should I go even lower??

Test scores: GRE 320 Q165 V155 GRE Subject test: Not taking TOEFL 118/120 Academics: B.Sc Statistics University of Mumbai (aggregate 75%) 3rd rank in university in final year M.Sc Statistics University of Mumbai (aggregate 65%) 1st rank in university in final year Important coursework: Probability theory Distribution theory Linear Algebra Multivariate analysis Real Analysis Work experience: 18 months of experience as an analyst in a consulting firm dealing with Customer Analytics, Retail Analytics, Loyalty Relationship Analytics and other Marketing Analytics. Experience of using Multivariate Statistical techniques like Multivariate Regression Analysis (Logistic & Linear Regression) and Clustering Systems to build Predictive Models and unearth other insight-driven conclusions. Experience of working on R. Research Interests (in order of preference): Multivariate Data Analysis, Statistical Modeling (Model combination, Model Selection), Probability Theory, Bayesian Statistics, Data Mining, and Computational Statistics Would really appreciate help on this.
