  1. Good luck yall, we can do this! I hope at least something works out because I haven't really gotten to that whole plan B thing... Also I sadly don't know how to PM, otherwise I would!
  2. I haven't heard from anywhere but no one really hears until at least February right? At least that's what I thought? Where did y'all apply? Eeeeekkk!
  3. Check out the I/O 2009 thread! I don't think anyone can really say how you'll do because there's so much involved and we're on the edges of our seats too. We'll just have to wait and see. Good luck!
  4. Just sent off the last of them today and already antsy...
  5. Great to see some conversation for this year! I've slightly changed my original list of PhD programs. Looks like I'm going for University of Maryland, University of Akron, University of South Florida, UIUC, Georgia Tech, Teachers College at Columbia, George Mason University, George Washington University, DePaul University, and University of Houston. Whew! I originally had a little trepidation about GT because I never really considered myself a "Technical Institute" kind of gal. I go to Emory so GT is our neighbor and I've always gotten an engineery vibe, but I clearly shouldn't have been scared off from the I/O program itself. Does that make any sense? I'm officially asking for recommendations this week, which means this is really happening...
  6. Thanks for the reply uberskooper! Yes, I thoroughly stalked the 2008 and 2009 I/O topics. I'm assuming this year will be as competitive as last year, but you know what happens when you assume. Sorry for the laundry list - I'm currently considering these 11 programs and am looking to maybe narrow it down by a few. This is based on interests, location, all that good stuff. GMU GWU UIUC USF UMD Columbia Penn State Georgia Tech Illinois Tech Depaul UHouston I have somewhere between a 3.8-3.9 GPA, a 1370 GRE, research experiences in 2 different labs (but no publications, and my school does not have I/O), and will be doing an honors thesis this year. Any words of advice? I'm still mainly in the research stage and am a little discouraged and overwhelmed.... I guess time will tell!
  7. I was super proud of myself when I got a 740 on the GRE quant section and figured I'd be in the 90th percentile or so, but my score report says I'm in the 80th percentile. How is it feasible that 20% of people got above a 740? I know this is still a great score, it's just that some of the programs I'm looking at want a MINIMUM of 80th percentile and I was hoping to totally wow them. Oh well. Does this seem strange to anyone else or am I losing it?
  8. Hey guys- Just wanted to have a thread for anyone planning on applying to I/O Psychology programs this fall. I think I've finally decided on the ten schools I'm applying to. Looks like it's going to be a tough year with this economy. Let the games begin...?
