  1. Still, being told you're waitlisted is different than being told your application is still under review.. I wonder what exactly the difference is. If they're rejecting me I wish they'd just say so, so that I can move on, haha.

Gah I know I feel the same! I actually emailed them too a week and a half ago and they didn't reply  -_-

  2. Just out of curiosity, has anyone received a rejection letter from SFU?

I haven't heard from them, and it seems like most acceptances into Population Health have been released... I'd like to know, either way.

Yep was rejected last week from the population health stream, I think Wednesday or Thursday.

  3. Thanks a bunch guys! My stats may give you some hope, they're not quite as impressive the stats of others. I'm graduating with an honours specialization health sciences with a certificate in practical French, my overall average is around 81, and for my last 2 years around 83. I have some experience from a practicum placement I've been doing at a local hospital that deals with rehab for people with acquired brain injuries. I submitted my application on January 15th, so hopefully admissions are on the way for the rest of you!

  4. I wouldn't worry about it, especially if they've received confirmation. UofA seems to have a pretty archaic way of submitting documents, with everything being sent to one e-mail address. It'll take them a long time to manually confirm that they've received everything. As long as you've done your part by submitting your documents on time, I wouldn't stress about it. :)

I've applied to the MPH programs at UVic, UofA (Health Promotion, on-campus) and UofT (Health Promotion). I'm so anxious! My top choice is UofT, but of course, admission is "extremely competitive." Trying not to get my hopes up, but it's difficult.

Hope that nobody had any complications with their applications, and now we wait...!

    Good luck everyone!

Okay that's reassuring, thanks a lot your your speedy reply! I know how you feel, I also try not to get my hopes up as a sort of defence mechanism but it's not working very well because assuming I won't get in doesn't feel very good either. I think it's going to make for a long couple of months.

    Best of luck!

  5. Hey everyone!

I'm new to the forum. I recently submitted my applications to U of T MPH (Epi) and Waterloo MPH.

I noticed much later in the application process that U of T requires a statistics or math course completed with a min. of B+ grade. I do have a stats course completed, but my grade was really poor in it - I took it during the first year of my undergrad and only because my program required it.

Most of the schools require some math background, but has anyone come across any program/university that doesn't require stats or math credits/grades?

Also, has anyone looked at the program at Lakehead U? Any idea how competitive that may be? I'm looking for one other university that may not be as competitive to have a better chance at admission for the Fall session

I also have this problem, my first year stats mark is less than desirable, partially because I was under the impression that first year marks didn't count for anything. I've applied to University of Alberta, University of Saskatchewan, Simon Fraser, Queen's and Memorial so as far as I can remember these didn't have a specific grade stats requirement. I looked at the Lakehead program and decided not to apply because it's online and I haven't liked my undergrad courses online. I don't know which schools are more or less competitive (but if anyone does please share!).

  6. Has anyone had any trouble with the University of Alberta application? My references are showing up as outstanding even though they've been submitted and my references received confirmations for them, one of them was showing up on Monday and isn't now... I haven't had any success contacting the school about it
