  1. Hi, I am in a dilemma about putting a paper on my CV as I am applying for fall 2014. I've a paper that got accepted at a journal, They needed around 1000 USD for publication and as such could not publish there I've already applied to grad 2 grad schools putting the paper on my resume as "accepted" at the previously mentioned journal. Now that I want to apply to another schools, should I keep the paper as "accepted" or "work in progress" or "submitted to Journal 'X' ? Thanks in advance Regards, Yeasir
  2. My undergrad supervisor is has gone abroad and is really hard to get him free any time soon assuming he is the busiest person alive.(!) I am planning to take recommendations from my current employer( Technical Director) and two of my undergrad professors who taught me as undergrad student. I am not sure if this would harm my chances as I am not getting recommendation from my undergrad research supervisor. Thanks in advance.
  3. Thank you so much, Yeah I'm worried a bit, I found it way easier to get A+ on the toughest subjects back in undergrad years than applying to grad schools. Two really helpful replies have relieved me a lot. Thanks again.
  4. I would be grateful if anyone can give me a right solution to this one. I need a bit of information regarding the online recommendation. My professors have written hard copies of recommendation letters with signature. So should I tell them to scan and upload the document or should they write in a non-letterhead word file and then upload in pdf format as the letter-head is only available in hard copy format, not in doc. Should my recommenders directly scan and upload the hard copy that they had written before in official letterhead or should this be fine if they upload in non-letterhead without signatures ie, doc format? Thanks in advance.
