I'm also torn between Emory and Columbia. Right now I am leaning towards Columbia, although I will be visiting both in the next few weeks. The CDC connection is impressive, by Columbia also has a close relationship with the NYC Dept of Health, which is a strong health dept. I think it also really depends on where you see yourself living after you finish your studies. I want to end up in NYC, and I'd love to have the chance to live somewhere totally different (Atlanta) for a few years, but I feel a little bit like I'd be shooting myself in the foot to NOT go to school/make connections in the city in which I want to live.

Although I feel obligated to give a second look to the schools that have already given me merit aid, I think that it will come down to Columbia and Emory, which are my two dream schools. I'm visiting both next month too!

Looks like we applied to a few of the same schools, and I am seriously considering Columbia. What is the other school/s you are deciding between?

I worked in the admissions office during undergrad and when people called to find out their status, that was basically what we had to tell everyone, regardless of if they were accepted or not. I think a lot of places have policies about not giving decisions out over the phone, for both acceptances or rejections. So I'd try not to freak yourself out too much

Just got my BU acceptance package in the mail! I was one of the early acceptances (December) and I also live in New England, so not far from BU. Best part was the $15K merit award I got!!

Did you get an email about Mich or did you check your status page on the portal?

I was the one that posted in the result search about a Pitt acceptance I also got the email saying I wouldn't hear until after Jan... but was accepted four days later. I am guessing it has a lot to do about with which department you applied to. I have also heard from BU, GWU and Tulane that my applications are complete and under review.
