Okay, I know I'm revisiting an old question, but I'm struggling a bit regarding the SofP/personal statements. I'm applying for MDiv programs to go into ministry with the United Church of Christ (UCC). I guess I just got a little confused by the last time someone asked this question-- I was planning on making my pretty personal, complete with well-written anecdotes and whatnot. (I mean, one school asks for my first "A-HA!" experience regarding my calling-- I figure that means it should be pretty personal). But one of the answers the last time someone asked that question was that it should straight-forward and professional. I'm planning on applying to HDS, Episcopal, and Candler as my top three. So yeah let me know what route you guys took, what makes the most sense for liberal-minded schools, and for someone interested in ministry with the UCC. Thanks so much!
