Hey everyone again. It has been a long time since I left my last comment. Two and half year ago, I was like you, panicking and worrying about the future and not sure which university to pick. Now after 30 months, I would like to share a bit of my experience and hope to provide some sorts of comfort to those worrying and panicking. Don't worry. Beacuse you will be fine and great ! I have just finished my Masters at Sciences Po. I was lucky enough to have a scholarship from the French government. Even before graduation, I had three job offers, two from international organisations and one from the finance sector. Now I am working as a consultant at an IO, specialising in education policy. To my knowledge, the majority of the people graduating from the the schools being discussed here have not had a hard time finding the job that they wanted. My friends from Oxford, LSE, Sciences Po, IHEID, IVY league schools can somehow find something that they wanted. It is very common that they work in IOs, consulting, and governments. I would like to share some of my observations during these two years. Network ! Network ! Network ! and Network ! : These schools offer a great opportunities to network. I got all my job offers through friends. So spend your time partying and networking. There is no dry friendship. Buy a bottle of wine (for Sciences Po fellows) and start drinking. Polish your language skills: Speaking an extra language does not necessarily land you a job. But it is very important to stay competitive. It is not uncommon to have people around you speaking 5 languages fluently. Also you can make more friends with more languages, let alone romantic relationships. Quantitative skills: it is nice to have some knowledge in quantitative skills such as STATA and statistics. The skills of bullshitting or blablablity are important. But back your blablabla with some stats will make youself slightly more convincing. Trust yourself: Do not worry too much. Trust your heart and your intuition. You are much greater and better than what you think youself is. Just work hard, play hard and enjoy. Keep your goals and strive for your objectives. It is all you need. All the best to the people who will apply for the 2017 cohort ! La vie en rose

Thank you everyone for your warmest encouragement. I am under the impression that IHEID prefers relatively fresh graduates with excellent academic and extra curriculum activities record. It made me think of the advice from my master professor. He was admitted to all top tier US schools in economics related subjects, like Harvard, Yale Chicago, Princeton etc. But curious enough, he just applied to 3 UK schools which were Cam, Ox and LSE, and only Ox accepted him and gave him some scholarships. His advice was apply as many schools as possible because you dont know their selection criteria and whether they wil give you money or not. So I regret not listening to him. Over the last years in Argentina, I have trained myself to be a wine expert (to be hoenst just a great wine lover). I can be your guide to some wine tasting events and winery tours in France. Good luck everyone. Hope to see you guys in Paris.

It does not matter cuz they are not going to tell us anything. After reading his answer, I now doubt that we are still under consideration is because of the fact that they have not proccessed our applications not because of us being considered for scholarships. This means we may still be rejected next week. Sorry for being pessimistic, I think there is a high possibility that we be rejected or waitlisted. I do not see admission is on its way to us. Under-Consideration people, lets have a nice weekend fearing the bad news that is coming to us on Monday (or next friday maybe).

More confusing news from IHEID. I wrote them an email and it is the answer. Thank you for your inquiry and kind message. I am not directly involved in the admission process so the information I can provide is limited. Looking you up in the system your status is "under evaluation" which means you will still have to be patient a little longer. Decisions should be out any time now and certainly so in the very next few days. Scholarship decision is handled separately so I do not think this should have an impact. Hope this helps. Sorry about stretching your patience so much.

Paola did say that they needed more time to process scholarship applications. Some MDev applicants received rejection today, it i am not mistaken. So I think for us, the Still Under COnsideration Group, we will possiby receive three different responses : admitted with Scholarship, admitted or waitlisted. It is logical to send all rejections at the same time. However, given how bad their management is, I do not rule out the possibility that they will send out more rejections.

Paola Eicher Dear Adam, we are still processing the applications. The majority will receive responses today but as we have received numerous scholarship applications we have to study them thoroughly, which will mean that we will need some more days to send out all the decisions. But be reassured, everyone will receive a message to say whether they are admitted or not next week. Fingers crossed to all of you, Paola Eicher I dont know if I read too much between the lines. but I think logically her response is flawed. First, she said they needed more time because there were numerous scholarship applications. Therefore, they needed more time to send out all decisions. It makes sense and it sounds to me like they are processing scholarships decision rather than an ADMITTANCE decision. However, the second part said , everyone will receive a message to say whether they are admitted or not next week. If considered for the scholarship, does it not mean the applicant was already admitted????? Any thoughts?
