  1. I kinda regret not applying to Fletcher this cycle. If I don't get into Georgetown this year, I'll apply to Fletcher too and more schools.
  2. I hope so! Makes all the difference! Hopefully they put me in your spot!! **fingers crossed** Where are you going Jenni?
  3. I cannot wait for May to come sooner! (all you waitlisters out there would know)
  4. OMG I just hope they get me off the waitlist for MSFS! The wait is killing me!
  5. I hope so too! Georgetown MSFS is the only one I am waitlisted. I didn't get into two other schools(SAIS and SIPA). I should've applied to more schools. What was I thinking! Crossing my fingers. And yes good choice on the school! Maybe I'll see you around MSFS, if I get in..
  6. Interesting! Good that you got to check out all three schools at their open houses! So does it seem like you will be attending MSFS? I am on the waitlist, I am dying to get in! Lol.
  7. I didn't get into SAIS or SIPA. But waitlisted at Georgetown MSFS, so it's my only hope at the moment...
  8. I am waitlisted on MSFS as well. AHHH!! The wait is killing me! Anyone have any ideas how big or small the wait list is? I know they don't announce it but any guesses?
  9. Hey guys! Just say this post, can't believe I just found it. Good luck to everyone! I just received my email from Georgetown MSFS a few hours ago(8pm, California time), wait-listed. Has anyone else heard from Georgetown MSFS?
  10. Hey everyone, Does anyone know much about the quality of getting an education from Columbia SIPA(School of International Public Affairs) ?? My focus in in diplomacy/international economics in US and Chinese relations. At first I was thinking of applying to 6 schools. But now I've narrowed it down to three. John Hopkins SAIS, Georgetown's MSFS and Columbia's SIPA. Of the schools, I feel like SIPA is too broad. Many other IR grads or those in the industry have mentioned that the school is "ill runned", "undergrads convoluting the school" and not as "straight-shoot" as the other schools. In any case, I hear the school is really board, and is too expensive for what it offers. At first I was going to aim for other safety schools too but several friends who graduated in IR, advised me that if I am going to spend over 60K per year for this degree, that I better pick a school that I will be WILLING to go and the best in what they do - network, job placement, education, satisfaction etc). 60K is no joke for anyone. I almost feel like not applying to Columbia SIPA because of the things I hear and its lack of focus. But at the same time, it seems too dangerous to just be applying to two schools.. Stats wise: Good GPA, decent GRE schools, strong LORs, a lot of international experience, polyglot, out of school for 3+ years. Went to a top tier public school. Anyone have any two cents on SIPA? Or any other advice for IR schools? HELP!! feel so alone in this process. Who else here is an IR person? Best, Burmese Alien.
  11. Right now I am applying to three schools: SIPA, SAIS and GU. Of all schools, I am having the most trouble with SIPA.. compared with SAIS and GU, SIPA stretches farther from the two and seems more public policy oriented. I am thinking three schools is too little. I don't know! I am lost! Help!
  12. Grad schools 24/7 !

  13. I knew of a girl who applied to 16 schools and she got into all of them. Needless to say, she had a really hard time deciding where to go. She chose John Hopkins SAIS in the end.
  14. My friend in SAIS took both her Macro and econ online prior to matriculation. You should be fine!
