  1. I emailed them and asked about my status and here is the response " Our decisions are rolling, and as such you can expect decisions to be made from now until about April 1st. That said, once our committee has reviewed and made a decision regarding your application, our department notifies you immediately by email."
  2. Yeah, it is totally possible. In the email, she said the first meeting is on Jan.23. I was wondering how many meetings they will have. Actually, I prefer them to directly tell me the result on Fri. After receiving email from them, I become nervous too.
  3. Unfortunately, I hear nothing from them so far. Some information below: I know someone getting into UR at the beginning of Feb.2013 and she is an international student. As we know UNC chem is a really huge department so I guess they should send a lot more offers (maybe 200 offers to get in around 70 students). Duke chem is a medium sized one and they only need around 20 students for each year according to their FAQ page. Could not wait until Fri, hope I can be accepted into PSU which is 2nd choice in my crazy long application list.
  4. Anyone apply for Penn State? I just got an email from their graduate coordinator saying that their committee meeting is set for this Thursday, Jan.23, and I will be notified their decision Jan.24.
  5. Just got an offer letter of UVA. 25,600 stipend, visiting day March 27,28. My uGPA is very low, 2.75/4.00 according to WES.

  7. First post here. Plan to apply chemistry Ph.D. program in 2014 fall. In short, my undergraduate is totally messed up, very low gpa (2.6, chemistry gpa is similar), no research experience, no excuse. Got MS degree in chemistry with 3.8 GPA and three publications (IF around 13, 4 and 2. Two second author, one first author). one U.S. patent (1st author). Have 1.5 industry experience as a R&D Chemist in a world leading chemical company (#1 or #2). Three great letters from MS advisor, two Senior scientists from company. Plan to apply top 30 graduate schools, any chances at all?
