  1. Hello, I'm starting my graduate degree at McGill this Fall, I'm a US citizen and I plan to move to Montreal together with my girlfriend. However, I'm a little confused as to how to apply for a Study Permit together with her, so she can get a resident permit and eventually a temporary working permit as well. The thing is, the information is very clear on the fact that I can apply for a Study Permit at the point of entry into Canada, but nowhere have I read what to do in order to apply together with your girlfriend (de facto spouse in legal terminology, since we have lived together many years). Anyway, anybody out there can help? It'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
  2. I applied and got accepted to a McGill MA, and the university is offering absolutely no funding whatsoever. No TA, no tuition reduction, zero. If the aid was merit-based, I guess I was not worth their money.
  3. Hello all, I have heard that the U. California at Santa Cruz has started a new PhD program in Visual Studies, I wonder if anybody out there knows anything about it; how it started, why, what exactly is Visual Studies, if it is related to Art History and how? Many, many questions, hope somebody want to clarify things out for me, I believe it's quite interesting. Thanks!
  4. I know the University of New Mexico Art History Program does not require GRE scores, that's about the only one I know of.

  6. Hello, I am wondering if anybody out there knows anything on the Art History Program at UNM with an emphasis on Latin America? I am thinking of applying but I can't really decide if it's a good program or not. They advertise it as being one of the best in the nation with those characteristics (the Latin American emphasis), and I see a couple of outstanding professors among the faculty, but the names I keep hearing are always U of Texas Austin, UCLA, Duke, Vanderbilt, etc. But I have lived in ABQ before and liked it pretty much, it's inexpensive, sunny, and I've still got a couple of friends there, so wouldn't mind moving back. So anyway, if anybody out there has graduated or is enrolled in this program, and cares to share their experiences, please do so! I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
