  1. Hi, I recently got acceptances from both Cornell and U-Mich at their School of Information. I am having a hard time trying to decide which one should I go to and why. Hope that someone here will shed some light on what things I should consider while selecting a school for a degree in HCI/Informatics.
  2. Thanks @imbenzene. Please check your inbox @cornell.edu.
  3. Hi Muscovy, This is an impressive list. All schools in California will have the added opportunity to work close to the Bay Area and there by better exposure in terms of job opportunities. According to the latest stats, following are the top 4 schools for HCI (according to research papers published) 1. CMU 2. Georgia 3. UC Berkley 4. UC Irvine Wish you all the best for your admission cycle. Also, I was curious why you would remove Cornell from the list. (According to my limited research, it is one of 10 school according to the number of publishings) Cheers -- Neeraj
  4. Hi, I recently got an admit from Information Science School at Cornell (Degree: Masters in Information Science), with a deadline of 31st January to submit the statement of intent to join (or reject) with a deposit of $500. I have applied to a few other schools, which might not even send me a decision before March. I have the following concerns: 1. Cornell has a very good brand, but I am not sure how mature the Information Science School is? Does anyone here have stats about the school? (admission criterion, selectivity, ranks related to other schools like Carnegie, Georgia, Washington etc) 2. Till what date should I wait and see if I get an admit from any other school? IMO, I should simply gamble the deposit amount, and wait and watch. (But its always good to get a feedback from others). Thanks
