I went to the Studio School for a year (before a ran out of money and had a daughter, long story) and sat in on a day of the interviews. It's a great school with a particular kind of ethos. I loved it. When I sat in, there were three faculty members (including the dean Graham Nickson) at a table, plus a student representative (me). The questions were pretty standard ones, but I'll say they shy away from artists who copy from photographs too slavishly and also artists who are more conceptual. It's much more about how you paint, why you paint, why you make certain decisions in your paintings, etc. Good luck--I loved it there.

I'm in the same boat. I e-mailed them earlier this week and haven't heard anything back.

Wondering the same thing about Columbia, Hunter and VCU. Seems like some folks have been called in for interviews. VCU says they mailed out their notices last week. Still haven't received ANYTHING.

I heard from UNC Greensboro on Friday ... I've been accepted! Tuition waiver + stipend. I'm excited about UNCG's program but still waiting to hear from Columbia, Hunter and VCU. Do these three schools interview everyone before acceptance?

I was curious about Cornell, too, so I emailed them to ask. All I got back was a generic statement that all applicants will hear by mid- to late March. Ugh. I think I would've heard by now if they wanted to interview me.
