  1. Simple but true. Thanks for the motivation
  2. Hey, I see. I just took a practise GRE test earlier (no preparation) and scored 157 in quant and 148 in verbal. Verbal was unexpectedly difficult, to be honest I often didn't even know most of the words that were proposed in the various exercises (I'm not a native speaker, but still!). Quite difficult. However the uni I want to apply to has only stated minimum requirements for quant and analytical writing, not verbal. So I am not sure if I should worry too much about the verbal part (for now). I am sure I could score higher in quant. A lot of the exercises were high school stuff that I didn't remember anymore, so a little revision should definitely help.
  3. Yeah I know it is a lot, but unfortunately I just discovered this uni and the programme starts in the fall semester only. So I'd basically have to wait 1.5 years to start in Fall '15 instead. Don't really get why some uni's have such early deadlines. I guess (?) I'd do okay with quant since my degree is quite analytic, however I'm not familiar with the GRE format. Thanks for your input. I will take the practice test later and see how I do, and then go from there I guess.
  4. Hi, So I decided today to apply to a university for a Masters in Econs because their programme appealed to me a lot (currently still doing my bachelors in Econs until January 2014). - The university requires a GRE/GMAT quantitative minimum of 148/600 and verbal score of 4.5-5 (Admitted applicants' average last year was a 660 GMAT score, not sure about GRE). - The deadline for submission of scores is 15th January 2014, but I have 7 final exams (bachelor) from 6th -15th Janaury and still working on my bachelor thesis right now. - I am basically asking for your opinion, as to whether it is realistic that I will manage to submit an acceptable test score by 15th Janaury (I don't feel objective enough to judge right now, especially since I have never taken one of these tests before). - Also, a little googling made me tend towards GRE instead of GMAT, though I'm not really knowledgeable about either one, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for any input/opinion etc!
