So finally I got invitation for PhD position in Biomedical sciences . I am really excited since this is my first invitation and in my top choice school. The director of the program invited me to the recruitment weekend and asked me to name the professors I would like to meet in the 3 days visit. I am actually interested to work with 4 prof there, do you think it will be bad idea to name the 4 profs. Should I choose 1,2 or 3. I have no idea!! any advice?

I will make a plan to have a baby LOL :D AND of course applying next round.

Eatin' Biscuits, Thank you very much for your suggestions, I have been actually trying to contact with the director and his assistant at Ecu with no luck, I am not sure maybe I am not that much interesting to them, or they are bad in communication. I am going to leave this program as a back up because the deadline is March 1, so I have plenty of time. For VCU, the average GRE and GPA of the applicants are higher than my stats. however, I am planning to submit my application anyway, who knows! More suggestions? I am sure this thread will be helpful to other applicants too..

Your old VISA is useless now and it is expired. Everything will be clear to you once you apply for a new VISA. However, If I were you I would contact with the international office in your old school.

Thank you for your reply, I am surfing its website now, interesting program, and the deadline is jan 15 so I have time (It is freezzzzzzing cold there though :ph34r:)) I am actually debating myself if I should retake the GRE for the third time, with more preparation.. I am not aiming high but I want to go to a place with several options, because I feel that I want to explore more areas and find what exactly my interest is.

Yes, I am applying for Fall 2014. Actually, many schools have deadlines after December, other schools allow you to apply even after the deadline because basically they will review the applicants after December. So I guess I still have time. Thank you for the reply

Hello everybody, I really need an advice here from you guys, since we are all on the same boat. Let me say first I know my credentials are not fantastic so applying to the top schools was not on my list. I am looking for middle, less selective schools. Here are my info : undergrad : international ( best in my country)= GPA 3.3 BS. clinical lab sciences Graduate : private school in US GPA: 3.34 MS Cell and Molecular Biology GRE: Q: 154 V: 140 W: 3.0 I took GRE twice, having the same score in the verbal. ( I had very good score in the manhattan and ETS practice test but I think I am not good test takers) IELTS score: 7 of 9 applying to: PhD in Biomedical Sciences/ Microbiology/Molecular Strong points: 1- I have a research experience ( almost a year ) at one of the best school in US ( top 10), and I have LOR from the PI there. NO PUBLICATIONS. 2- I don't need funding, I have a scholarship from my government. I would like to know if you can suggest any good school I will have a chance with.
