  1. I'm crossing my fingers for UCSB, from which people have already started to receive interview invitations. I'll just keep myself away from my laptop for now, or I would refresh my email and result search page every minute. I got so anxious today that I cleaned the house, did the dishes and the laundry, and went to the gym...
  2. I was more thinking about talking to the faculty members about their researches a bit ... But still, it would probably be very obvious what you are trying to do and I'm not sure if it would be a good idea.
  3. I have received emails from four schools saying that my application was incomplete and I needed to send them official transcript/GRE report/etc (which I have record showing I did send them, weeks ago!!). Nevertheless, I sent them another copy but they received the files after deadline. So does it affect my application? The graduate office said it doesn't matter to them since they will route the materials to the department as soon as it's completed. But they don't know what the department would do. Anyone has any ideas if the department would find it a problem that some materials were late?
  4. Ok, I'm freaking out right now. Most of my friends have done so in Nov. My adviser said contacting the faculty member would greatly increase your chance in the application. She even mentioned a student years ago with great GPA and GRE score, failed to get any interview invitations because he did not contact the faculty members. I want to start now, but it is almost winter break and I doubt if professors would read the emails and respond now. The threads that reporting having already received interview invitations make my heart sink even more... Please someone tell me that I still have a shot PS. I'm applying for PhD program in Clinical Psych . PPS. Yes, I notice the grammar mistake in the title... now you know how freaking out I am....
