  1. Here's a question: did anyone that got in to Hopkins DrPH program receive tuition support?
  2. Has anyone heard from the following programs: Johns Hopkins DrPH EHS, Columbia DrPH EHS, UIC DrPH (online, interdisciplinary)?
  3. Yup, got in. You?
  4. Haha, that's so unprofessional! My Emory interview went very similarly (a professor took not 1, but THREE calls during my interview). GW phone interview q's were entirely about my level of commitment to the program, and nothing about research or my background. I got the sense that my answers weren't what they were looking for, but we'll see next week! Best of luck to you, maybe we'll end up at the same place!
  5. drph_2014 - I'm in your same boat. My employer encouraged me to apply to Tulane's EH PhD program so it wasn't a first choice, but I'm also trying to get a feel for the program; may make a trip down to NOLA w/ my wife to meet students/faculty. Have you heard anything about funding? Also had an interview with GW EOH - DrPH but I know it didn't go well. GW DrPH said they'll be letting folks know by March 15th.
  6. I too will not be accepting any of the PhD/DrPH programs I got in to this year if they do not cover tuition, give me some sort of health insurance, and reassure me I can put food on the table for the length of my studies. We all work currently. Many of us have Masters loans. Some of us are married and have kids. Unless you can handle further debt, do not settle for taking out massive amounts of loans for your doctoral degree. My two cents.
  7. I received the same letter from Pitt, but I can safely assume epi PhDs would get first pick to graduate assistantships over epi DrPHs. Not holding my breath to receiving a stellar funding package from them.
  8. Awesome, I hope your interview goes well! I applied to their DrPH in EHS (have about ~7 years work experience) after much debate and guidance from faculty. I intend to continue working so Hopkins would be a perfect fit; however, not hearing from them by now is making me extremely nervous. I also applied to the GW DrPH in EOH department, crossing my fingers with that one. BTW has anyone else noticed that many of the schools have their recruitment/open house/interview days from Feb 6-8th? So far I know UNC, Emory, and Hopkins' interview dates for their Envir Health dept are on the same days.
  9. Soy and DrPH_2014: are your interviews at Hopkins for a DrPH or PhD in envir health? So far I've heard from Pitt EOH DrPH (was outright rejected and told to reapply to epi dept); Emory EHS PhD (interview); & UT Houston DrPH EOHS (accepted).
  10. I second the insanity. I wish I would also stop incessantly checking the grad cafe and SDN forums 10 times a day
