Yes GlenwoodRed, it was on that page. At the top left it said, view status update - or something like that. It had just been posted today.

Hello Everyone, On a whim, I checked my Yale application and found a status update. Had to open up the application to see it (it says submitted still when logging in), but the link was there at the very top. Knew the rejection was coming from this forum, so not a surprise. Disappointed to not have been considered...but them's the breaks.

What about Juilliard... anyone heard anything from them?

Wrighter, re: Hunter. I have a friend there who says they are happy, but that the program is definitely what you make it. The other playwrights in the class have all had varied experiences, some of them negative. Tina Howe is wonderful, but there has been some turnover - Mark Bly has left and Arthur Kopit is the interim head. Also, it's a public college, so there is no money. They do see a lot of shows and have had established playwrights visit (John Guare, Sarah Ruhl, etc.) and have alumni that are doing well.

I loved that letter too.

Rejected from Brown! Not surprised. Okay, on to the next...

I am an anxious, nerve wracked lurker. Oh, the wait. I'm a bit on the older side and am concerned about all the ageism talk earlier in this thread. Haven't encountered it so far as a playwright (how could anyone know how old you are from a play?), but given you have to put age on the app, it's out there. Is it really a factor for acceptance? In the end, it's something I have no control over. But unfortunately, when nervous I obsess over things I can't control.

It's the hardest part.

Hello Everyone, I've been lurking for quite a while now... Have applied to Juilliard, Yale, Brown and Iowa. NickLondon, I would think so or hope so! This waiting is brutal. From the Yale timeline email that went out on the 5th, it looks like everyone will know where they stand soon. And I guess Brown traditionally begins notifying towards end of this month.
