  1. Does anyone think that this could indicate final decisions coming later this year, too?
  2. 4:46 ET?? It's so confusing reading the threads and figuring out what time zones posts were sent from.
  3. So I checked last year's thread, and FLTAs were, in fact, notified the same day (a few hours before) U.S. Student Program applicants. Today could be the day!
  4. I'm apply for an ETA and have experience working/mentoring with a literacy nonprofit for high school students in my community. I also have taught rock climbing classes and have shadowed several EFL at my university, but I don't have "official" teaching experience. The country that I'm applying to likes ETAs that are straight out of college. I don't know much about Bulgaria's program, but I'm assuming that your teaching background can only benefit your application.
  5. My FPA said (vaguely) that we'll find out "by the end of January". This is how I feel...(substitute Oompa Loompa for Fulbright decision)...
  6. I didn't want to bother my FPA, but I'm going to email her now and ask. She has a very good relationship with Fulbright.
  7. The same thing happened to me! Make sure to add "iie.org" to your list of approved domains!
  8. My FPA is fantastic. In fact, she is one of my very favorite people (of all time). She has also helped me apply to numerous other scholarships/fellowships, and she took the time to go over each of the 12+ drafts of my personal and grant purpose statements with a fine-toothed comb over the summer. She really cares about each of her Fulbright applicants, and the process went much more smoothly with her help. I'm still hoping that we get the real email from Fulbright by the end of this week. Best of luck to all the applicants! Especially other graduating seniors...it would be nice to know what we're all going to be doing with our lives after graduation!
  9. Hi everyone! I want to wish you all the best of luck. I applied to Brazil as an ETA. I'm hoping for a response soon! To those who are current Fulbrighters or who have applied through their college's scholarship office, will our scholarship advisor here know before we do if we are recommended as finalists? Happy new year!
  10. Hi Katie_h17, I also applied for Fulbright ETA (Brazil) and will be graduating this spring as well. I haven't heard anything from Fulbright yet but we should be notified about finalist status sometime this month! I'm in the same boat - I feel like my only option is to get some sort of part-time job before the Fulbright would start in February (if I get it). It's very awkward timing. Let me know what you decide to do if you get the Fulbright!
