  1. As someone who has been to Oxford and is currently on the way to Harvard - I'm really unsure. Maybe judge it on your background, the professors, the aids, the other students.
  2. Haha, it's really nice! Lol, it's probably because Fulbright here in the UK is such a pain of a process! So many forms! Where have you applied?
  3. I've been accepted to Harvard / Woodow Wilson for their MPP / MPA programmes. Will decide in the next few weeks where I go. Applying from London but originally French. How about you? Really glad to hear that from you!
  4. Not heard back anything yet either! Where have you seen that people are hearing back from them? Good luck to us
  5. Grad Cafe people, I am a deferred combined HKS student of British-Chinese origin. As I was about to start my masters, I received an offer to go work for the UK govt on a Chinese project for which I was happy to delay my grad school start for a year. Last year I applied for a Von Clemm Fellowship, one of the most prestigious scholarships at Oxford / the UK. I got through to the final round for an interview but didn't make it to the cut for the scholarship, but I was told I should re-apply! I know I can re-apply and I definitely will. I just want to understand how I can increase my chance of being accepted for at least an interview again! What should I talk about on the essay? Should I keep the theme the same as last year's essay? Should I tackle the fact I got rejected head-on and talk about why I am better / more suited this year? Just looking for honest opinions, thoughts, interesting ideas etc! Know it's tough but anyone who's been in the same situation would be great! First post so hope you guys can help!
  6. What would your thoughts on this choice be? As someone who grew up in the UK I'd love to hear what American's would think of this choice?
  7. Hey, Can you send me a email and I'll link you to people who've done both!
  8. Got into Fletcher / HKS today - awesome thanks for all your help!
  9. Thank you very much for your response - I really appreciate it!
  10. As an Oxfard undergrad have to completely disagree! Very easy to meet professors - given the tutorial system! I think dropping in names show's your research is there and if you're dropping in names for a phd professor then even better as it shows dedication / research! Happy to answer other questions you might have!
  11. Hey all, It seems that the World Bank Offers some fellowships to certain "preferred universities" to study econ development / MPP type programmes, However, they don't have much in the way of information about eligibility. I was wondering if anyone here could shed some light on the eligibility? I'm British, went to a top university here (Oxbridge) and am applying for various MPP programmes in the US. The website says they are open to World Bank member countries but all my research suggests people only from the developing world get it. Maybe someone could shed some more light?!
  12. Hey everyone, I'm in the exciting / annoying stage you were all in last year. I was wondering whether people here could share their tips / thoughts on the process. What do you think the key thing the committee are looking for is?
  13. Hey all, First post here - I was wondering if you all knew of fellowships / scholarships open to British students wanting to study in America? Any thing at all would be really appreciated
