  1. It seems to be the only thread . I wouldn't want you as my competitor ! you would crush me and take all the spots. Excellent profile and best of luck .
  2. Hey Jeff , First good luck in your admission this year. Well this comunity is not inclusive , maybe a lot of people applied to stanford bioengineering but they did not post anything about it . last year stanford results were out in the end of January , so soon enough we may get more infos. Ya I do feel the heat biomedical engineering/bioengineering results started surfacing .
  3. Refresh rate just increased from 2 times per day to 100000 per day . I've been told they are in the process of finalizing the decisions @ CMU good luck T.J . it is a pitty that guy did not give more info like ( POI admissions) or grades.
  4. Don't assume anything , there are single entries with no patterns. last year duke mass acceptance/rejection were in the middle of February have heart my friend
  5. I think admission committees should notify the rejected people as soon as possible. especially the ones who are out early in the process and not make them wait endlessly so they can refocus their effort on their safe schools/ redo tests , register for the next semester graduate additional courses.
  6. Most of the Biomedical engineering / science / technologies programs don't care about your background because the subjects itself is multidisciplinary and they expect peopel from different speciality to apply too. and also they offer remedial courses . But you should do a lot of research instead of asking such questions on forums.
  7. right ? on a funnier note , on Friday i received an email from one of the Universities ( CMU ECE ) i applied to , my heart started racing , i went blind , i did not even read the title. I opened the email . it was saying that they need more biographical information to start reviewing my acceptance. Well at least I know they just started reviewing the application after 1 month of applying.
  8. It depends on the Universities, you will not find an answer unless you ask the Graduate program administrator or you know someone working from the University . it may also change from year to year.
  9. stay with Matlab discover it , own it and master it . if you are going to a Research school most probably they are going to have matlab. remember you are a researcher, not a programmer not a developer. Having a program that is up and running and correct is a priority. Now if the School you are going too is more liberal and don't like to pay insane amount of money for software and licences , they are going to use either octave ( a matlab clone ) or Python . I worked as researcher for a research company my PI was always pushing me to write in matlab/python more than C++. Most Researchers .they try to start writing programs in C++ early in their careers but they soon drop C++ for matlab. so Matlab . if not python
  10. Thank you , and for your too. FEB it is . haha the funny thing is that i know for a fact , that the results are going to be out in FEB or later , and i know they will send me an email if the application status change however i cannot help it but to refresh the application page. on the other hand the UPitt BME program gave me a website where i can check my status different than the application site.
  11. I applied to the joint cmu pitt computational biology program as well .Due to family reasons, I am limited to Pittsburgh Area.
  12. Yo T.J I applied to CMU and UPitt the biomedical engineering department , have you heard from them ?
