I think that's exactly what they want you to do. As long as you can tie those three things (what you did, with who, and what you learned) together you'll be fine!

Lol! Ok, so here's my vent/rant/harangue I have to take the GRE tomorrow and I'm nervous as [crap]. I just finished Power Prep II which I completed all the sections, labored through the questions, and really gave it my best. Only to find out two of my math sessions weren't saved (or something). All I know is, one math section didn't show up and the other didn't have any of my answers. One of my letter writers said she couldn't write my letter of recommendation until after the 15th of December. Yeah, well that's past my deadline. Whatever. Ugh. Why, why, why do I need to take the GRE? Application season is kicking my [@$$]; I'll be glad when this is over and done with.

ToldAgain, that was indeed very helpful. While I was considering a concession paragraph, I think it would be better to "strengthen" the authors' argument in each paragraph as you have pointed out.

Thanks for your tips! Unfortunately, I keep falling into those traps that you speak of, especially RC. Though I've gotten much better, it's still happening. I have been practicing with Magoosh and Manhattan. Both have been extremely helpful, but I like Magoosh better.

Like, I really need this added stress right now! One school stated anytime before Nov. 26th would be enough time for my scores to post on time. However, I keep reading that I should've taken the GRE in October or the first week of November. So, do I have a chance to make the Dec. 1st deadline?

I have the same question. I'll be watching this post for answers. I would like to assume the CV would suffice, but much like you I don't want to agitate adcoms.

That's a good way to list an abstract too! I'm definitely going to have an advisor to look at it. I just want my CV streamlined and free of clutter and fluff. At the same time, I'd hate to sell myself short by missing the opportunity to show I'm trying

The "guest lecture" done was after I graduated. I was asked to present my research, the one from the poster session, to an Advanced Research and Methods class. Naturally, I spoke more about--and they were more interested in--'how' the research was done and not what it was about. All the example CVs I've seen have references listed. It may be field specific and it does seem like this is something that would be reserved for the application now that you mentioned it. Yes, padding would be bad and, I think, a sign of being pompous.

I put my poster presentation under the heading "Presentation & Publication" I listed the abstract separately under it using bullet points; I did the same for the invited in-class presentation. For example, it looks like this: Hopeful G., Hanna T. (May, 2012). Oh My Goodness: Application Season is Here and it is Driving Me Bananas! Poster presented at XXX University Undergraduate Research Conference, City, State. *Invited in-class presentation.....blah blah blah *Abstracted published.....blah blah blah Correctly indented of course. As for references, I was referring to professional references on the CV for myself. List 2 or 3?

Hi All, I listed my poster presentation, but do I list my published abstract? The abstract is published in my undergraduate university's research library and is accessible (and searchable) to everyone. Would you add invited presentations and talks to your CV? They are on the same abstract and poster presentation. How many references are typically included? I've seen two or three. Thanks!

I'm applying in the Fall also; I wish I applied for this past cycle. In the meantime, I've been studying for the GRE, researching schools/programs, working on my SoP, and revising my CV and resume.
