Yup, unofficial rejection from Cornell. A little sad, but I already have a plan B. I got a research assistantship at my undergrad university. If grad school didn't work out this year, I will definitely re-apply.

Feeling pretty low. I was told I was good for interviewing by Davis, but the PI rejected me. Cornell unofficially told me I'm out. Rejection hurts, and it's very easy for me to see it as "I was right, I'm not good enough for this."

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm in the same boat. I even got rejected from my "safety" school   I haven't heard anything back from Cornell though. But do not have a good feeling about it... sigh
