Time just moves slower at Mr. Jefferson's University.
(Good luck to all y'all applying to UVa. Charlottesville is a fantastic place, if any admits need moving advice feel free to PM me).
Howdy yalls, I'm mainly applied to art history PhD programs, but also put in an application to William and Mary for American Studies, so I thought I'd say hey! Received an acceptance note from them today, but on the wait list for funding. Good luck to everyone with the rest of your apps, maybe see some fellow W&M folks for recruiting week!
Anyone else heard back from Boston, good or bad? The email I got in January acknowledging the receipt of my app materials said they would contact applicants mks-February.
For what it's worth, I have doubts about the Columbia post. Have heard they only notify via email. Also, I'd expect other acceptances to be insta posted.
Anyone have experience with being offered admission to a school's MA program instead of the applied-for PhD, with the understanding of reevaluation in two years? Know of anyone who has successfully transitioned into their PhD program after such an arrangement?
(Super excited my first response wasn't a "no", even if it wasn't quite what I had hoped for. Positive thoughts, everyone!)
The same as ChurchLover.
(Actually promised myself I wouldn't get into the Grad Cafe thing, but was feeling antsy and checked in anyway, and the first post I see is by someone who is most likely applying to the same load of programs as I am. That's gotta be auspicious of... something.)
