One of my recomenders was so late I actually got accepted to two schools before he submitted his letter XD. They understand profs are busy people, and totally don't hold it against you if your letters are late. That being said it was stressful as all get out waiting for him haha. Also I wouldn't recommend anyone intentionally trying to replicate my results...

So I was admitted to UW Madison a few weeks ago, but have yet to receive any info about their visitation weekends. Should I email the coordinator asking, or have other people not yet received this info?

I've been admitted to Wisconsin but they haven't sent me any info on the weekends, however I found this page http://www.chem.wisc.edu/content/graduate-paths-and-recruiting-weekends which seems to suggest Feb 28 and Mar 28 are the weekends of choice.
