  1. You are right, nightwolf1129. I can see the same document, and mine is dated on 2/10. I think that should be the letter. =D Icelestial, my impression with bc is that they care about your community involvement than your academic performance.(just my opinions though...) I have a friend that got in with a 3.30 but she was very involved in her community. She also got a huge amount of scholarship. As for me, I have a 3.84 and many years of volunteering, interning, and work experience in the field of victim advocacy and domestic violence with children and families. If you have demonstrated your commitment to social justice as well, that should be a plus. My experience with the admission office was very pleasant. They are friendly and nice. I don't think that would hurt your application if you call and ask politely. :-)
  2. I don't know much about Smith, but I can tell you about BU, BC, and Simmons because my coworkers went to these three schools. I know that BC and Simmons are very clinical focused. BU is mostly macro. In terms of field placement, BC has better networks, but Simmons requires more hours per day. Simmons has a very good trauma program as well. I hope that's enough info because these are what my coworkers told me. In terms of the culture of the school, Simmons has a lot of part-time students and many are in social services professions already.
  3. Applied: BC, BU, Simmons (12/29)

  4. Interesting! I applied to BU too but I have not heard from them at all. But I think I am happy with BC. =)
  5. Congrats! I am still waiting for the letter too!
  6. BC is my first choice. BU was my second until my coworker told me how "macro" they are. Simmons is very clinical, and they require more field education hours. I also like their trauma concentration. However, one thing I don't like about Simmons is that they seem a bit unorganized because they messed up one of my intern's field education placement, and they also lost up my recommendations. I think I chose BC already deep down even without hearing from the other two. But depending on how much each school gives me, I may go to a school that I will end up with less debt! I am going to try doing full-time for one semester to see how much I can handle. Because I have friends that are in BC already, they are willing to share their syllabus with me. I am going to start reading the required books/materials as soon as I accept the offer from BC. Good luck and let us know when you get the letter in the mail! I may get it before you but they can also be mailing everything on the same day due to the snow storm on Wednesday.
  7. Great! I am happy for you. It sounds like you have a very interesting background. Perhaps they informed the good candidates first? Am I just crazy? Just kidding. I think there is a high demand in serving veterans. And the jobs pay really well too. I am going to focus on Children and trauma.
  8. Congrats! I think there is a very high chance that we will be classmates. I am doing clinical in children and families. What about you?
  9. You are making me nervous for you too. hahaaa...Is BC your first choice? I am still waiting to hear from Simmons and BU. My coworker went to BU and said that they are very macro-concentrated. I may not go to BU then. Are you trying to do clinical?
  10. I got an email from BC. I can't wait to receive the actual acceptance letter in the mail! Applied on 12/29.
  11. It was just a regular application. I applied on 12/29. I guess it's a little more than a month. They basically sent me an email to congratulate me and told me that an official letter will be mailed to me in a week or two. Breathe, breathe, and breathe...
  12. Yeah, I have applied to the campus program at BU, BC, and Simmons. Just got email saying I was accepted from BC today! I haven't heard anything about their financial aid yet. I am working at a shelter at the moment and my hours are pretty flexible. That is also a reason why I feel like I could do a full-time job with a field placement, and classes. *Fingers crossed* I have known someone that did her fieldwork, school, and a full time job all at the same time. I feel like I can cut out my social life for two years and try to get my MSW sooner. Moreover, BC admission said that I can always change to part-time if I cannot manage it. I hope I can do that!
  13. Hi nightwolf1129, I am pretty much in the same boat like you. I live with my husband in Boston, and I have applied to BU, BC, and Simmons. I work full time at the moment and am trying to go to school while maintaining my job at the same time. I just got an acceptance from BC today from an email, but there is nothing about financial aid so far. Hopefully, there will be something in the mail in a week or two. Good luck with your application!
  14. Hi everyone, I just got my acceptance today! Wohoo...Does anyone know how they announce the scholarship/financial aid?
  15. It's so exciting to see how everyone is going into the same field as mine. I applied to BC,BU, and Simmons. All in Massachusetts because I have a job here. I wish I could apply to SJSU and some CSUs since I had my undergrad from SJSU. Anyone will be working while attending school at the same time?
  16. Nice! Which program are you applying to?
  17. Anyone heard back from the school yet? I have submitted my application on 12/29. I have been waiting and the butterflies feeling is kicking in. I want to connect to anyone that may be going to BC or even BU. =)
  18. Hi everyone, I am absolutely new to this forum. I submitted my applications at the end of December. I was wondering if anyone will be working full-time while going to school full-time as well. I would like to connect with you (self-care, duh! =D) to see how you will handle rigorous coursework and your job. I have applied to BC, BU, and Simmons and am still waiting for their decisions. I am going out of my mind! Good luck everyone!
